(Cincinnati, Oh.)-- Former Bengal football player Artrell Hawkins is facing domestic violence charges, after allegedly kicking in a door at his house, when his wife was home.

Carrie Hawkins told police, she and her children were afraid when Artrell Hawkins allegedly kicked in the basement door of their home in Springdale.


Police say Carrie Hawkins has now taken out a temporary restraining order against him.


Hawkins who works part time at WLWT Channel 5 will be in court on Monday, on a domestic violence charge.


Hawkins was in court Monday morning. His bond was set at $5,000.
