Hamilton Council Votes in Favor of Park Cameras

(Hamilton, OH)--City council members voted unanimously to install security cameras at city parks. The Wednesday night vote was 7-0.

The cameras and DVR-based systems will cost $25,000. They will be installed at Veterans Park, River's Edge, and Colligan Lodge. They will also be installed in three spray grounds.

Hamilton wants to fight back against vandalism at the parks. Police said several suspects have been charged. They are all juveniles.

People who use the parks express some concerns about the cameras. But they admit that the public deserves safe parks, and hope the cameras will help make that possible.
