(Cincinnati, Oh.)--Honor Flight Tri-State has flown Seventy-two Tristate veterans to Washington D.C.

The flight took off from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) Tuesday Morning. The trip will take the Veterans to several memorials and monuments in Washington, D.C. at no cost.

The US Airways chartered flight carried 149 people from the Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and South Eastern Indiana area. Each veteran is accompanied by a guardian, 60% of the guardians are family and 40% of the guardians are volunteers.

The flight will take World War II and Korean War veterans to visit to the World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Iwo Jima, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the US Air Force Memorial.

Tuesday’s flight was the second to take off so far this year, the next Honor Flight will be August 19.
