The Cincideutsch Christkindlmarkt of Cincinnati is the first traditional German Christmas market held on Fountain Square, the heart of downtown Cincinnati. It is organized by the cultural nonprofit, Cincideutsch. The Christkindlmarkt tradition in Cincinnati began in 1988 when the Germania Society introduced the city’s first German-style Christmas market. In 2012, Cincideutsch brought its own authentic market to the heart of the city by holding the first Christkindlmarkt on Fountain Square. The actual traditions of German Christkindlmarkt, however, go back for centuries. The market in Nuremberg is touted as the country’s oldest and most renown of them all, with records of the event dating back to 1639.

4th Annual Over-the-Rhine Holiday Home Tour

The Over-the-Rhine Holiday Home Tour is a self-paced walking tour of beautiful neighborhood homes. Participants will get an exclusive look into charming residences and once-neglected buildings brought back to life. The tour will last about 90 mins. Tickets are only $25 and are available through

100% of the ticket price will go to Future Leaders OTR, a non-profit group dedicated to shaping the lives of the youth in our community.

The Main Library’s Train Display

The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, 800 Vine Street

During the holiday season, the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County will host a variety of free and fun events at select branches, the annual train display and literary tree at the Main Library. The Cincinnati Northern Model Railroad Club Holiday Model Train Display will be on display in the Main Library’s atrium Friday, Dec. 1, through Sunday, Dec. 3. The Children’s Learning Center will host train-related stories, crafts and activities for children 2–3 p.m. Saturday, Dec 2, in the atrium. No registration is required for either event. 

Winter Greens: Seasonal Illustrations from the Lloyd Library

Lloyd Library & Museum, 917 Plum Street

Celebrate the opening of the Lloyd Library and Museum’s latest exhibition, Winter Greens, featuring historic images of evergreens. View illustrations dating back to the early 1800s from the Lloyd’s rare collections. Light refreshments. Free and open to the public.

Winter Greens features early American and European books about forestry and trees, intricate botanical illustrations in bold colors and in detailed line drawings, and engaging stories about the books themselves. Prepare to be delighted and explore the science and folklore behind these celebrated plants.

Sing me a Story: A Christmas Carol

CIncinnati Boychoir’s annual Sing Me A Story holiday extravaganza is back! With holiday favorites and new songs destined to become classics, the two hundred members of the Cincinnati Boychoir’s Aronoff programs will help put you in the giving spirit with a fun retelling of the Dickens classic. Featuring guest performers Chris Riva & Kathy Wade.

Santa’s Workshop

This year, ditch your annual trip to the mall and venture down to Washington Park to see Santa Claus! That’s right. Every Saturday in December, Santa and his merry band of Elves will be spending time in Washington Park making gifts, ornaments and other fun creations from 1pm to 3pm. Stop by the wish-list station where elves will help you write a list to give to Santa when you meet him- or bring yours from home! Bring your family, your dog, your friends, but most all–be sure to bring your cameras!

Crafty Supermarket 2107 Holiday Show

About The Tour: The Team USA WinterFest presented by HERSHEY’S is a multi-stop festival crisscrossing the country – to bring the energy and excitement of the Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 to Team USA fans around the globe. The tour will feature athlete meet and greets, interactive experiences and more. New this year will be the HERSHEY’S S’moresmobile along with the Bobsled Boomerang presented by HERSHEY’S. The new S’moresmobile will be providing Team USA fans free, full-size, delicious HERSHEY’S S’mores for fans to enjoy while sharing memories over an all-American classic treat. The Bobsled Boomerang will give fans the chance to experience what it’s like to be in an Olympic bobsled while also capturing and sharing the moment on social.

The Team USA Social Media Truck and the Curling Challenge – both presented by OREO – are also new to the tour. The social media truck will feature multiple interactive stations including: Team USA Athlete Snapchat Face Swap; a designated photo and GIF station; and a digital message board for fans to share good-luck messages with Team USA athletes ahead of the 2018 Games. The Team USA Curling Challenge will allow fans to test their curling skills and enter for a chance to win a trip to Park City, Utah, for the 10th stop on the tour, the Team USA Town Takeover during the opening weekend of the PyeongChang Games.

 Macy's Downtown Dazzle

This weekend join host Victoria Morgan, artistic director of Cincinnati Ballet and the Nutcracker, in celebrating the magic of the holidays with music from the Queen City Sisters and the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus! Each Saturday Santa rappels down the Huntington Center at 525 Vine St., to the Macy’s rooftop to kick off a spectacular fireworks display. This 20-minute family-friendly program also features performances from local choirs. Then, come inside to Macy’s Fountain Place to warm-up with holiday fun.

Story time with Mrs. Claus at Macy’s Fountain Place
