Burning Man attracts more than 70,000 active participants from all over the globe who gather in the desert outside Reno, Nevada. This thriving temporary metropolis is a hotbed of artistic expression and innovation through its shared principles. Both a cultural movement and an annual event, Burning Man is one of the most influential happenings in contemporary American art and culture. Ephemera, archival materials and photographs will be on view in the companion exhibition City of Dust: The Evolution of Burning Man, organized by the Nevada Museum of Art in Reno; it will trace Burning Man’s origins from its countercultural roots to the world-famous desert convergence it is today. The first phase opens on April 26, 2019, and the second, which will unveil additional art throughout the museum, opens on June 7, 2019. Both phases of the exhibition will close September 2, 2019.

Your whole family will enjoy this delightful double-bill. For the first time in company history we present Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tänze, a whimsical take on the aristocratic era set to the music of Mozart. Filled with sophisticated precision, this fanciful romp is poetic and playful. Coupled with Sechs Tänze is the world premiere of Victoria Morgan’s Dancing to Oz with original music by Maestro Carmon DeLeone. Based upon the classic Oz tale, the ballet begins in a dance studio. Our heroine follows a fabled path that ultimately reveals hidden strengths.
