Through November 2.

This Halloween season, murder, mayhem, and mutilation abound, as Shakespeare’s bloodiest play descends on the CSC stage. Roman general Titus Andronicus returns victorious from 10 years of war, his archnemesis Tamora Queen of the Goths in tow and in chains. But when Rome’s rash and impetuous new Emperor decides not only to free her, but to marry her and make her his queen, she embarks upon a remorseless course of revenge. As she and Titus engage in an escalating cycle of violence and vengeance, the body count rises and Rome threatens to fall.

An Architects of Air’s luminarium is returning to Washington Park for BLINK 2019!

Founder, designer and artistic director Alan Parkinson first started experimenting with pneumatic sculptures in the I980s and has since developed his own language of form in this plastic medium. In 1992 he established the company to build and tour his luminarium designs. Since, Architects of Air, a Nottingham based company has made over 500 exhibitions in more then 40 countries. The luminarium is open 10a-11p, Thursday, Oct 10 – Sunday, Oct 13. General admission is $10, $5 for children under age 10, and free for children under age 2.

Capacity is 80 persons and when the structure has reached full capacity a queue will form and visitors are then admitted as other visitors exit the luminarium. The first reaction is often one of delight at the unexpected beauty of the light. The light of the day, transmitted by the translucent coloured parts of the luminarium, is surprising in its luminosity and makes a direct impact on the senses.

It is a paradox that such a stimulating environment can also be so calming, comforting and many people find the luminarium a place for rest or contemplation. Visitors try to put their experience into words – comparing the experience to like walking through a stained glass window, a futuristic space station, or like being inside a gigantic strange breathing organic but comforting creature.
