Toffee


  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Combine the butter, sugar, syrup and water in a heavy saucepan and cook over medium heat to 275 – 300 °F.

 Stir in the nuts.

 Pour into a greased baking sheet.  Sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread melted chips over the top.
