Black Bottom Pecan Pie

  •   1 package (4 ounces) sweet German chocolate
  •   2 tablespoons butter
  •   1/3 cup sugar
  •   1 cup light or dark Karo
  •   3 eggs, beaten
  •   1 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/4 cup pecan halves
  •   1 unbaked 9" pie shell

Melt chocolate and butter. Stir in the sugar, Karo, eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Add the nuts and pour into pastry shell. Bake in 350 °F. oven for 50 minutes.
