Winter weather predictions from the Farmer's Almanac

The latest Farmer's Alamanac for 2022-2023 has been released, and it's calling for a cold winter.

The Almanac says this winter is expected to start earlier than last year's and December could be stormy and cold nationwide.

In the Tri-State area, the winter outlook is expected to be "unreasonably cold and snowy."

"We're saying that this winter is going to be shake, shiver, and shovel. So there will be a little bit of everything," said Peter Geiger, an editor at the Farmer's Almanac. "Overall, I think the winter is going to be probably average amount of snowfall. I think it's going to be cold, particularly the months of January and early February."
