Why Did My Bees Fly Away?

Various factors could be at play in this scenario, but often it comes down to two common issues. The first, is the lack of a sufficient mud source for female masons to build their nests. The second, comes down to the bees' sensitivity to pesticides and lawn treatments, including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides.

Even if you don't use chemicals in your yard, they may still be present due to these treatments' highly mobile, accumulating nature. Unfortunately, this means even if we do everything right, the wind and rain may still carry pesticides and chemical scents into our yards from our neighbors.

We understand talking to neighbors about their lawn treatments and pesticide use can be tricky, but it's important! To help you get the conversation started, we've created ready-to-print informational materials for you to pass along to your neighbors.
