Denver Burglar Steals Over $42,000 Worth Of Comic Books

Authorities in Denver are looking for a thief who stole 14 comics worth around $42,000 from Mile High Comics. Police say the suspect knew exactly what he was looking for when he smashed panes of glass protecting some of the store's most valuable comics. After he broke the glass, he took specific comics and placed them in a plastic bin he brought with him. He managed to make off with the first Avengers comic book, the first Iron Man comic, and a rare autographed Spider-Man comic book.

William Moulton, who works at Mile High Comics, told the Denver Channel that the first Avengers comic book is worth around $12,000.

The suspect's plan didn't go off without a hitch, as he cut his hand on the broken glass. Surveillance footage showed the man picking up the shards of broken glass and putting them in the trash can. He then grabbed some window cleaner and toilet bowl cleaner from a nearby shelf and tried to clean up the blood.

Investigators are hoping to find some evidence that can help them identify the suspect. Moulton hopes that they can track down the thief and recover the stolen comic books.
