Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was seen cursing during a heated exchange with head coach Zac Taylor on the bench during his team's 37-27 win against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (December 15).
Burrow, 28, appeared to say, "f**king embarrassing," with the Bengals up 37-21 with 1:09 remaining in the fourth quarter before responding "f**k that" to Taylor and adding "we sucked today."
“Just a conversation back and forth,” Taylor told reporters when asked about the exchange during his postgame press conference via the New York Post.
Burrow threw for 271 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions on 26 of 37 passing, breaking the Bengals' single-season franchise record for touchdown passes with 36 and throwing for three or more for the sixth consecutive game.
Cincinnati has, however, struggled in spite of Burrow's stellar play, currently at 6-8 following a 1-4 start, with seven of their eight losses coming within seven points or less. Burrow was also days removed from an alleged burglary at his home that took place during his team's road game win against the Dallas Cowboys Monday (December 9) night.
"Feel like I'll start out by saying something before any questions today," Burrow said to kickoff his press conference on Wednesday (December 11). "So obviously everybody has heard what has happened. I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one, and way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share. So that's all I got to say about that."
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Olivia Ponton was identified as the woman who reported the alleged burglary at Burrow's home. Ponton, 22, reportedly noticed a "shattered bedroom window and the room ransacked" and called her mother, who then contacted police.
"[Olivia] is wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding or if she should be going outside," her mother said in police audio.
"Someone broke into my house ... It’s like completely messed up," Olivia, herself, later said in a separate call.
It's unclear why Ponton was at Burrow's home, however, a police report identified her as a "22-year-old woman who says she's employed by Burrow."
