Sleep In Heavenly Peace (SHP).
SHP is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit serving children in need. SHP provides handmade bunk beds to children who don't have beds of their own. We deliver these beds to the kids, and partner with organizations, churches, businesses and individuals like you to build them at events called Build Days.
My wife and I completed the training and were approved to start a chapter in Southwest Ohio at the end of April. In the last month, SHP has grown from 12 chapters to over 160 nationwide. This is partly due to the recognition SHP received from Returning the Favor - a show hosted by Mike Rowe (aka Dirty Jobs guy). This is a volunteer organization and 100% of donations go towards building children's beds. We are dedicated to finding young children in our community who are currently living in situations that do not afford them the luxury of sleeping on a bed or laying their head on a pillow. Our Chapter received over 62 requests for beds the first day we were up and running! The need is great and we cannot do this alone.
Through the wonderful efforts of volunteers and generous donations, bunk beds are built, assembled and delivered complete with mattresses, pillow and bedding to those children who are sleeping on couches, blankets or even the floor.

At SHP we have a mission, no kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
