Virtual Pig and Porch Pig Weekend

Organizers of the Flying PigMarathon are celebrating what would have been race week with fun, at-home activities and events. The Marathon was moved from May 1-3 to October 9-11 amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The Flying Pig Marathon, named the #1 Marathon in America earlier this year, is known for its extraordinary participant experience and worked to maintain this during the pandemic. Three options were offered to participants: Run a Spring Virtual Race, postpone to the October date or contribute race registration fees to the Flying Pig Charities.To date, more than 5,000 are doing the spring virtual race andregistration is open through May 10for the virtual races. Registration for the fall Flying Pig races opens on May 11.

Thousands of runners and walkers will be taking to their community sidewalks this spring. Organizers of the Flying Pig Marathon are asking the community to create flying pig inspired sidewalk chalk designs to entertain and delight those participants. Add chalk to your Kroger list and get creative from May 1-3.Share your chalk creations on Facebook.com/FlyingPigMarathon to receive fun prizes from the Flying Pig.

Celebrate the Flying Pig Marathon with a fun-filled hour on May 3 from 12-1 p.m. live from your porch featuring champagne toasts, running-inspired playlist, cocktail recipes and video tributes to participants and volunteers.
