Well, you may be able to do just that…even this year…if you have not yet filed your Ohio Individual Income Tax Return. The State of Ohio offers a Scholarship Donation Credit of as much as $750 on an individual return and $1,500 on a joint return for donations made directly to Scholarship Granting Organizations that have registered with the Attorney General’s Office.
Many local schools can benefit from your donation and effectively you can take this from the money that you would have paid to the State of Ohio for income taxes.
