Rita unlocks the mystery of Red Lobster's cheddar bay biscuits!

It's time for biscuits like Red Lobster. Sometimes I’ll add some chopped chives to the butter mixture for brushing on top. Now Red Lobster doesn’t put chives on theirs, but hey, herbs are always a good add-in! Chives should be popping up soon!



2 cups buttermilk baking mix

2/3 cup milk

1/2 cup shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese

6 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2-3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Chopped chives (opt but good)


Preheat oven to 425.

Combine mix, milk and cheese just until a soft dough forms. Don’t overmix or biscuits will be tough.

Drop dough by heaping tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.

Combine butter and garlic powder and chives; brush over warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet.

Serve warm.

Makes 10 large biscuits.
