Plants of the Week - October 13th 2018

After last week’s Tree Amigos show, it would be silly to have the favorite tree be our pick for this week!  The most votes went to Metasequoia glyptostroboides, or commonly known as Dawn Redwood.   A faster growing deciduous evergreen (similar in appearance to Bald Cypress), this bold specimen works well for larger lawns, parks, golf courses, groves, specimen or screen, and actually can be used as a street tree.  Reddish brown bark, deep furrowed, and just overall gorgeous tree.  Will tolerate moist areas.
