This is good alone with bread or over some penne pasta
Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions
About 2 pounds Italian sausage links, large size, either sweet, hot or combo of both
Butter or olive oil
1 yellow onion, sliced
1/2 to 1 red onion, sliced
1 generous tablespoon garlic, minced (3 nice cloves)
2-3 bell peppers, combo of red, yellow, orange, green, cut into large pieces
1 teaspoon each dried basil and oregano or palmful fresh, each
1/4 cup white wine or water
Brown sausages in skillet. Slice and set aside.
Melt butter or use olive oil in skillet and stir in onions and garlic. Cook a couple of minutes. Add bell peppers and seasonings. Stir in wine or water. Continue to cook until peppers and onions are tender. Put sausages back in skillet and cook everything over low heat until done.
