My neighbor just dropped off a bushel of pears. Perfect for dipping into this trendy caramel sauce. You can use apples instead. This is yummy spooned over ice cream or waffles, too.
SALTED CARAMEL SAUCE
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/4 cup each: water, butter and whipping cream
1 tablespoon sour cream
3/4 to 1 teaspoon salt
In saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup and water. Heat over medium high heat. DON’T STIR. Cook 8-10 minutes or until sugarturns a sort of dark amber. Add rest of ingredients except for vanilla and whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Serve warm.
