I had extra strawberries and needed to use them up. Here’s a popular and really thirst quenching drink - strawberry water is as good tasting as it is good looking!
MEXICAN STRAWBERRY WATER (AGUA DE FRESA)
No real recipe, but here’s how I do it.
Put a good 2 cups sliced strawberries in a bowl.
Sweeten to taste - I’m experiment with natural sugar subs so I used Swerve. I’ve also made this with stevia and regular sugar.
Stir in 1/2 cup water. Cover and refrigerate several hours or longer.
Pour mixture into a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour this mixture through a strainer - discard pulp and seeds (my girls/hens love those)
Add up to 3 cups cold water and blend well.
Now pour over ice and enjoy, or place in refrigerator up to several days.
I garnished mine with tiny sprigs of mint that was just popping up - some folks like lime.
