Plants of the Week - Begonias and Geraniums

Its Perennial Gardening month, so let’s take a look at 2 more perennials that get folks really confused by their common names…Begonia and Geranium!

Hardy Begonia  Botanical Name: Begonia grandis var. evansiana

About Hardy Begonia ; A hardy begonia with attractive heart-shaped green foliage with red accents. Soft pink blooms complement the foliage in summer through fall. Add it to part sun and shady beds and borders.

Perennial Geranium    Botanical Name: Geranium sanguineum

About Perennial Geranium: A tough, easy to grow perennial with pink to reddish-purple blooms in summer and good fall color (white available as well). It excels as a groundcover or as a tuck in plant between other perennials. It thrives in moist areas and may be added to borders and rock gardens, under trees, part shade to shade
