This weeks pick is a favorite of many – yet many don’t recognize it when they see it. It’s Metasequoia glyptostroboides, or commonly known as Dawn Redwood. A faster growing deciduous evergreen (similar in appearance to Bald Cypress), this bold specimen works well for larger lawns, parks, golf courses, groves, specimen or screen, and actually can be used as a street tree. Reddish brown bark, deep furrowed, and just overall gorgeous tree. Will tolerate moist areas.
