Italian Sausage Hoagies with Sauce
Use the slow cooker. It cooks this sausage recipe to perfection.
These sausages may be served in sandwiches or over pasta.
Ingredients
8 (4 ounce) links fresh Italian sausage, either regular or hot
1 jar Marinara sauce
1 large bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 nice sized yellow onion, sliced
Couple shakes Italian seasoning
Couple shakes garlic powder
Provolone or Mozzarella cheese (optional but good)
6 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise
Instructions
Place Italian sausage links, spaghetti sauce, pepper, onion, Italian seasoning and garlic powder into a slow cooker; mix until well combined.
Cover and cook on Low for 4- 6 hours. Serve on toasted hoagie rolls. If using cheese, place sausages and sauce in rolls then place a piece of cheese over. Place under broiler just until cheese melts. Or over pasta and sprinkle with shredded Provolone or Mozzarella.
